I went through a really deep depression in 2004 where I actually wanted to die. Sick Cycle Carousel by Lifehouse described my feelings at the time! Thank Jesus I don't feel that way anymore! Amy Grant has her "Come Into My World". I guess this is my version of it!
Jesus really brought me through that time! I have such a tremendous testimony for that time! I tell you honestly looking back, if it wasn't for Jesus, odds are, I probably would have committed suicide.
I could kind of relate. Although I never actually wanted to commit suicide, I did wish that I would just die somehow. I think that was right after Annie's passing. My family didn't want anything to do with me and I just didn't know how to exist without her because I was under her wing for so long. I made tons of mistakes and it's a terrible feeling knowing that your family will leave you out in the dust when you need them the most. 10 years have gone by and things still aren't any better on the family side of things :( But I agree, knowing that Jesus loves you unconditionally, helps you through the hardest parts in life! I'm glad that your life turned around for the better. You seem like a very positive and uplifting person! It has actually helped me at times :)
ReplyDeleteI never knew that your depression was that bad? What was causing it if you don't mind me asking? It's always great to find songs that speak to your heart and bring you through difficult times. I think that's the great thing about music, especially Christian music. If I ever did any song writing, I would probably focus on things like that too. Fun music is great, but to actually be able to speak to someone and possibly save lives through your words is an amazing thing! I think you do that with your poetry! You have for us, anyway!
