After 25 years of making albums, Amy Grant finally releases her first hymns albums! This album is made mostly of hymns and a few songs of faith; hence the cd title Legacy...Hymns & Faith.
The album has a nice organic feel to it. The music is a mix of contemporary and perhaps a little country as well.
The highlights of this cd:
1. My Jesus I Love Thee- This is my favorite hymn on this cd! Amy sings this beautifully! I love this verse from this hymn: "I love Thee because Thou has first loved me,/And purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree./I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;/If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, 'tis now."

I had no idea she has been making music for that long! I think we will buy this one because on track 13 she has a medley of my all-time favorite hymns! There are some I'm not too familiar with, but we'll definitely check that out! and we have become Amy Grant fans, so I know it'll be worth it :D
ReplyDeleteThis cd was released on 2002. As of this year, 2012, Amy has been making music for 35 years! Her first cd, a self-titled one, came out in 1977---the year I was born.
